As busy real estate professionals, it’s easy to get wrapped up in work and not take the time to enjoy our beautiful surroundings here in SW Florida. When family comes to visit, it’s the perfect excuse to live like a tourist and visit or revisit some of the local attractions. We recently paid a visit to the Naples Botanical Garden, where we hadn’t been in years. To say this spot is worth a trip is an understatement. If you are into gardening or flowers at all, you will think you died and went to heaven as you leisurely stroll the grounds of this serene garden. Orchids, exotic palms, succulents, water lilies . . . everywhere you look is a sight to behold.
Just some of the beautifully maintained, luscious gardens featured are an Asian Garden, Brazilian Garden, Caribbean Garden and of course a Florida Garden. The Naples Botanical Garden opened in November of 2009 and has been added onto since. It sits on 170 acres of land about 3 miles from downtown Naples and attracts over 220,000 visitors per year. You can walk through the garden yourself or try one of their daily guided tours. Whichever way you decide to take in the garden, be sure to bring your camera. Each of us in our party took over a hundred photos apiece.
At Christmastime, the gardens are converted into a tropical winter wonderland with the annual Night Lights In The Garden. We haven’t experienced this special event yet but will be putting it on our calendar for this coming December.
