The Cape Coral no-kill animal shelter is moving forward as City council approved plans in March. Expectations are to break ground on the state-of-the-art shelter within the next few months. Initial square footage will comprise 8,200 square feet with 14,000 additional square feet to be added in later years.

In addition to the adoption center, the shelter will include a veterinary clinic, grooming area, and a play yard. The shelter is a much needed and welcome addition to Cape Coral. At the shelter homeless, abused, neglected or abandoned dogs and cats will receive medical care, love and affection and are welcome to reside in the shelter until a suitable permanent home is found for them. Just imagine the countless furry little four-legged friends that will be saved in the coming years.
