On my daily walks with our Pomeranian Teddy, we pass multiple dogs and their owners. I think about how lucky we are that we can walk our dogs year round without fear of frozen paws or frostbitten noses and are able to get our canine friends the exercise they need and want. In SW Florida though, we do need to walk our dogs pretty early in the day or later in the evening during our hottest months.
Besides being able to enjoy being outdoors with your dog throughout the year, if you’re a dog owner living in Cape Coral you’ll be happy to know options abound for caring for and enjoying your beloved furry friend. These numbers are approximate but a quick count of services offered for dogs in the Cape turned up:
· 20 veterinary clinics
· at least 10 dog-friendly restaurants
· 7 pet stores
· 24 dog groomers
· 2 natural and holistic pet food stores/dog bakeries
· 1 public dog park, the Waggin Tails Dog Park at Rotary Park
Wow, that’s impressive!
