As of Jan 1, 2015, The Village of Estero, with a population of 26,612, becomes an Incorporated City. The 23,000 registered voters of the town voted by a landslide 87% majority for incorporation. Estero is the most recent town to become incorporated, with Bonita Springs being the previous city.
