In January, not only did the Ft Myers/Cape Coral experience an unusually high number of days below 70 degrees, but six and half times as much rainfall also blanketed the area. 12.98 inches of rain in which 2 inches is the monthly norm. There were three days alone in January with over 2 inches of rain . January's rainfall was the most ever experienced here since the National Weather Service began keeping such records 114 years ago.

The cool and wet weather may be pay back for such a warm December, when we had many more sunny days in the mid 80's than is normal for that time of year. Let's only hope that our snowbirds have much nicer weather for the rest of the winter season.
