Most Americans Want to Move in Retirement

Three out of five Americans want to spend their retirement in another city or state from where they currently live, according to Bankrate's recent nationwide survey
 
Older Americans: living on a fixed income is a big concern when they retire, and nearly 75% of respondents who were 65 years old or older said that finding a lower cost of living was "extremely important"
 
Midwest Movers: 68% of Midwesterners said they'd consider moving, and 25% cited a desire for nicer weather as the most important aspect of retirement.
 
Outdoor Influence: Many of the adults surveyed said living near mountains, rivers and outdoor recreation was an important retirement requirement.
 
Staying Active: 25% want access to beach lifestyle in retirement, while 18% want to retire near a university, museum or place with other cultural activities.
