Just as our snowbirds are arriving back to SWFL for the season, two new eaglets have also arrived. On December 23rd SW Florida's most famous eagles Harriet and her partner M15 welcomed the arrival of two eaglets, E12 and E13. What a wonderful Christmas present for the eagle couple and for the rest of us who can now enjoy the antics of the eaglets and their parents via a live webcam feed focused on the eagles' nest. 24 -7, four cameras are trained on the nest which is situated in a slash pine tree in North Fort Myers, the same tree that Harriet has called home since 2006. Traffic on the website, which has been around 3,000 under normal conditions, nearly quadrupled as the hatching approached. About this same time each year the new eaglets hatch and viewers love watching the activities in the nest. Since its inception in September 2012, the Southwest Florida Eagle Cam (SWFEC) has received more than 115 million views from more than 190 different countries worldwide.
Our SWFL eagles are so popular they even have their own Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SouthwestFloridaEagleCam/ as well as the live webcam feed: http://www.dickpritchettrealestate.com/eagle-feed.html
